You’ll find the very best grow light selection for indoor gardening, aquaponics and hydroponics at Panhandle Hydroponic. When it comes to grow lights we have what you’re looking for, grow light bulbs and lamps, grow light hangers, grow light timers, grow light parts, grow light accessories and power cords for grow lights. Panhandle Hydroponic stocks the full line of grow lights like Spectralux and other well known brands like Eye Hortilux, Xtrasun, and Digilux. Single-ended, double-ended, metal halide lamps, high pressure sodium lamps and high output lamps in a variety of wattages and sizes.
Whether fluorescent, sodium, or halide, we recommend replacing light system lamps (bulbs) every 1 to 1.5 years if operated for a minimum of 12 hours per day. Although lamps older than this might still ignite for multiple years, the quality of light they provide to the plants will have significantly degraded after this time of continuous use. (NOTE: The above does not apply to LED lamps, which have much longer service lives).
Hortilux Super HPS (High Pressure Sodium) Enhanced Spectrum Lamp
HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM VS. METAL HALIDE
* Sodium lamps are generally selected for photoperiod manipulation when a significant amount of daylight is also available.
* Because metal halide lamps emit light in a broader spectrum than do sodium lamps, some growers are using metal halide in conjunction with sodium for extending or augmenting natural light in areas where winter skies are often overcast. Plants grown solely under sodium lamps have a greater tendency to stretch than do those grown under metal halide lamps (which are richer in the blue spectrum).
* For the same reason, growers are selecting halides for propagation and foliage-only environments.
* Likewise, because halide lighting is more pleasing in light quality, it is often used in areas where workers spend a lot of time, or in situations where foliage and flower color needs to be as "natural-looking" as possible.
What is the importance of color temperature ratings (Kelvin) on bulbs (3000K, 6400K, etc.)?
Kelvin is a unit of measure that rates color temperature of a light source. Lower Kelvin temperatures will display deeper hues of red and orange light. Higher Kelvin temperatures emit deeper concentrations of blue light. As a general rule, one should use lamps with lower Kelvin temperatures for fruiting/blooming/flowering and lamps with higher Kelvin temperatures for vegetative growth.
SPECTRALUX 1000 WATT HPS
Spectralux® High Pressure Sodium 1000 Watt Single Ended Lamp features high lumen output and 2000° Kelvin color temperature making them ideal for horticultural applications. Fruiting and flowering plants will thrive under these lamps! It can also be used as a full term light source. They are engineered to be compatible with both magnetic and electronic ballasts. Spectralux® lamps are optimized for use with Sun System® brand ballasts and reflectors.
USHIO introduces the new Super High Pressure Sodium Double Ended lamp to its HiLUX GRO lamp series. Ushio HiLUX GRO Super Double-Ended High Pressure Sodium (HPS) Lamp, 1000W
Extend the growing season to 365 days a year with Eye HortiluxTM grow lamps. Choose Eye Hortilux lamps to raise your lighting system to a new level of performance, optimizing spectral energy levels that promote vigorous plant growth.
EN lamps are completely lead-free and contain less mercury than standard HPS lamps. The environmentally friendly lamps (EN) can usually be disposed of without being recycled; however, please check your state laws first, which may be more strict than federal law. For information on how to recycle your lamp, visit www.lamprecycle.org.
Hortilux Super HPS Enhanced Spectrum grow lamps fine-tune your lighting system to provide optimum spectral energy levels that promote vigorous plant growth. The Eye Super HPS EN Grow Lamps provide 17% more total energy and 25% more energy in the violet, blue, and green spectrum than standard high pressure sodium lamps. These lamps are environmentally friendly and pass EPA TCLP test criteria as non-hazardous waste.
WE CARRY THIS BULB IN 250, 400, 600, AND 1000 WATT SIZES. ONE OF THE FINEST HPS ON THE MARKET. TRY ONE AND YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE A HORTILUX BULB WILL MAKE IN YOUR SYSTEM.
